Short Black and White is a collection of pen and wash drawings mostly executed at a local cafe called 'The Vintage Nest' in my home town. The cafe is a treasure trove of collectables that you can sit on, eat from, and buy. Vintage 'stuff'.
People come here to meet, to relax and to take time out. And then there's the 'stuff' that we line our nest with. The pretty things.
Most of the drawings are done in situ. I prefer this method of drawing from life as I can really connect with the subject.
Drawing people without them knowing, so as not to disturb them, is a challenge. Capturing an impression before they move is another.
